san francisco vacation

vacation marathon part 2 took me to San Francisco. 

we drank lots of good coffee and ate lots of good food. 

we were total tourists and loved every minute of it. 

the happiest place on earth

two weeks ago, vacation marathon began with a trip to walt disney world with my parents.

my mom and i love disney world, and even my dad seemed to enjoy himself. we have pictures of him smiling with his teeth showing!

 

epcot was hosting their flower and garden festival, and there were tons of disney themed topiary gardens.

epcot also has one of my favorite things to photograph: the german train garden. it is full of beautiful miniatures, and i doubt most people stop to really check it out. 

 

 the animal kingdom has a few of my favorite animal, the okapi. they are the only known relative of the giraffe, and have the legs of a zebra. they live so deep in the jungle in africa that they were first discovered not that long ago. 

 

 this is a picture that i have managed to take four times over the last 4 years. it is the partners statue in front of cinderella castle in the magic kingdom. what makes this picture, and the ones like it, so special is that i have been able to take it before the park opens. 

during our last four trips, we have made breakfast reservations at the crystal palace before park opening. there is something extra magical about walking down main street when it is empty and getting to actually look at the castle and the statue.
